Case Study

In 2007, Harvest renovated a bicycle hangtag design for Midwest Cycling, a retailer with locations in Omaha, Kansas City and St. Louis.

The previous hangtags were printed with several different designs. Midwest Cycling had to carefully anticipate usage levels to correctly order the right quantities of each tag. The design made the system difficult to manage and resulted in waste and out-of-date materials.

Harvest developed a single hangtag to work for all models of bicycles. We reduced the size of the tag by one third and designed around a more affordable printing process. Including design and production, we reduced the client’s annual hangtag expense by over 50%.

We utilized 100% recycled materials for the tags, and printed in a single ink color to reduce production waste. By creating a multi-functional design we improved the client’s ability to forecast and reduced waste.

Harvest proved with this project that sustainable marketing can save money and save the environment. Now Midwest Cycling regularly works with Harvest to apply these same practices to every marketing initiative.
